When Joe returned home from taking the bar, we decided it was time for a much needed vacation. Joe worked so hard for the bar, that it was time for him to finally celebrate summer, the end of law school, and finishing the bar. We are so proud of you Joe!!!! Thanks for all your hard work and sacrifice.
For our family vacation we decided to go to northwest Michigan and go camping. For Joe's birthday in April, he got a tent and we were finally able to go on a family camping trip and use it. The kids loved it. The first night we roasted hot dogs and marshmallows, and as you can see by the picture, Kayla wasn't a big fan of the smoke. The kids loved sleeping in the tent, and we stayed up late telling them stories. Joe made up some great ones that I think he should publish someday.
Michigan has some GREAT sand dunes. I have never seen so much sand in my life and the kids were in heaven. We loved rolling around in the sand and burying each other.
Just for perspective, the little dots on the horizon are people on a different sand hill. There is a large sand valley between us and that hill. And these hills of sand go on and on and on.
After a few days camping, playing on lake Michigan and the sand dunes, we decided to go to Muskegon, MI and go the the Michigan Adventures, a fun amusement park. They had a lot of rides for the kids to go on. It was so fun to see Kayla and Isaiah so excited to go on the rides together.
But, my favorite of all, was when Joe went on kiddie rides with the kids. It was so funny to see this huge man climb in the rides and go around with all these little kids. Joe looked like a giant.
I love this picture of Joe with the kids on the carasol. I think this was there third time riding it over and over.
What a great trip. We are going to miss Michigan so much. This place feels like home, and it will be very hard to leave, but we are excited for the new adventures that are ahead.
