"Happy Poop Day" footage

Here's the promised "Happy Poop Day..." rendition that I promised. Kayla had victory again yesterday. This rendition isn't as funny as when it happened the very first time, but is still pretty good.

Vacuuming

Kayla sprinkled crushed up crackers all over the floor and was very excited when I asked her if she would vacuum it up. She used to be so scared of this big loud vacuum, now she always wants to take over.

"Happy poop day to me........."

So, Kayla has been doing extremely well with potty training, but the big number 2 has been giving her problems, or should I say US problems. Last week Joe sat Kayla down and said "What is something you would like if you can go poop in the toilet?" Kayla thought about it for a few minutes and then she quickly replied, "I want a cake with a candle." We agreed. Finally tonight she had some success in the good old potty with number 2!!! YAY!!! But that is not the end of the story. Luckily we had a cupcake in our fridge that some friends had given us for Valentine's Day (thanks so much Blands!). I found an old birthday candle in our cupboard and then I came out with the special lighted cake. Kayla started singing, "Happy Poop day to me, Happy poop day to me..............." I wish I took some video of it, but I will next time and post it. It was the funniest thing ever and I can't stop smiling about it right now. Here is a picture of Kayla with her special cake:

Since I am posting about potty training, I decided to post this picture of her potty sticker chart. Kayla loves putting stickers on it.

If anyone else out there is potty training, GOOD LUCK!!!

More indoor days........

We have had more indoor days lately. Today church was canceled so we put our creative brains to work. Kayla wanted to put more fruit and other things on our tree. Kayla gets so excited to decorate our tree and at night as she climbs into bed and asks me if we can put more fruit on the tree in the morning. What fruit will be on the tree tomorrow? Nobody knows. Warm days, come soon or we will be making up our own fruit!!

Valentines Day

I guess you can say I started a little tradition when Kayla was born. Every Valentine's day I like to dress the kids up in the classic "Daddy" shirts. Here's what they dressed up in this year:

(My heart belongs to Daddy)

The kids made Daddy a chocolate heart. I have to admit, I think I ate most of it and it was GOOD!!

Preschool

A bunch of my friends and I started a preschool for our little ones. We only do it one day a week since they are still so small, but so far it has been a success! A few weeks ago we had "Blue Day" at our house and Kayla was so excited to be the hostess!

Snowy day inside

Here are some pictures from being inside on the snowy days, we gotta get creative........

We made an apple tree and the kids had to find the apples around the house and put them on the tree.

Kayla had a lunch picnic with all of her stuffed animals. She gave each animal a cup and made them food.

Daddy dancing with Kayla when he got home from school.

And Isaiah being his cute content self.

We are so excited for spring. Won't it be great to have the kids hop in the stroller with flip flops, shorts, t shirts and not a worry in the world?

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.............

So, I just had to blog about just how FREEZING COLD we are here in Michigan. According to weather reports, tonight the temperature is -12 degrees, but get this, the real feel is -31!! If you do the math, that is 63 degrees BELOW freezing. Can we say crazy? Tomorrow is a stay at home day. So if you have better weather than this, count your blessings!!

Here it is.........

10 Years Ago:
I graduated from high school, just hit puberty, grew 7 inches in a summer, and bought new pants.

Things On My To Do List Tomorrow: Send out some valentines to the Grandmas from Kayla and Isaiah, get Kayla to go #2 on the potty, and buy more carpet cleaner :)

Snacks I enjoy
: CHOCOLATE, CHOCOLATE, CHOCOLATE........... need I say more?

What would I do if I were suddenly made a billionaire? Hey Britt, Tricia, and Jen, my three amigos. I would give mine to the little orphan Annie and tiny Tim charity foundation. What were you guys thinking?

3 Of My Bad Habits: (1) Checking blogs and blogs of people I don't have a clue who they are (2) Getting more excited to play ring around the rosies than my own kids (3) Wearing my cookie monster pj's all day long.

5 places I have lived: South Jordan, Utah "childhood home; Jerusalem "The Holy Land", Buenos Aires, Argentina "The HolEy Land", Herriman, Utah "the cave", Ann Arbor, Michigan "the Cottage", Muskogee, Oklahoma "Where a square can have a ball."

Jobs that I have had: I have worked at Brighton Girls Camp as a counselor, Legacy Retirement as a waitress, Many hospitals as a nurses aide, Herriman Clinic as a medical assistant

Things most people don’t know about me: My 13 year old sister-in-law beat me at an arm wrestle, I tried to make it look like I wasn't really trying my hardest, but she beat me fair and square. I'm a nurse, but not currently practicing (well, I guess on my kids). Flossed for 7 MONTHS straight (if anyone needs a good motivator let me know). Some of my present wardrobe contains clothes from my middle school years. (I know, embarrassing, but poorly true......go 90's!!!)

I tag...........Camille, Gwen, Sarah, Michelle, and Andrea..........happy blogging!

Mysterious Deliverer.......Please step forward!!!

I'm not one to deny any sort of blessing, but this one has to be claimed by someone else. The other night, Ryan and Camille Parker received a mysterious delivery on their doorstep. Someone out there graciously gave them many bags of groceries. Well, the Parkers first came to us and thought for sure we had done this thoughtful act. We denied it, and to this very second they are CONVINCED it was us. It is nice thinking that they think Joe and I would give them this, but this credit is undeserved. So to avoid undeserved credit, we are publicly asking the real "grocery deliverer" to step forward. Joe and I cannot handle the burden of the undeserved blessings any longer. We love you Parkers! :)

Crib buddies

Lately, we have been finding Kayla fast asleep with Isaiah in his crib. She loves to climb in, read Isaiah a book, jump, wrestle, and then finally fall asleep. And from the looks of it, she sprawls out leaving Isaiah a little room in the corner.

Lately, we have beein

Best Friends!!

Does life get better then this? I love that my kids are so close in age and are playmates. They (most of the time) get along so well.

Car show

A few weekends ago we went to the famous Detroit Car show. I didn't realize how hands on the car show is. They allow you to get in almost every car. Kayla and Isaiah had a fun time getting in the cars and pretending to drive them.

This is my favorite picture by far. The cars that were just on display and not hands on, of course, the kids wanted to "drive" them and touch them. I caught this picture at the perfect time of both of them trying to sneak over. How cute, don't you think?
